What changed, and what we fixed

Every announcement and beta change, and which pages here were corrected as a result. Blue posts sit in the second tab.

Read alongside The lists here say what happened. The Beta section says which of it Blizzard confirmed, which of it somebody reported, and which of it is a guess with a date attached. To the Beta section

One page per beta build: what Blizzard announced, what shows up in the client, and where the trackers disagree. Talent changes are computed from our own snapshots, not copied from anyone.

1.60.1.70630 October 27, 2026 Paladin and druid rebuilt a week before launch The first live client after the beta, on Blizzard's CDN under the product wowf at 01:44 UTC on 27 October, with 1,254 changed files against 70532. Our snapshot reads the trees of this client and adds the server hotfixes of 28 and 30 October for six classes - read from the hotfix cache, not from the client's files. Blizzard has published no notes for any of it. 88 talent changes read 1.60.1.70532 October 21, 2026 The first client under the live product On Blizzard's CDN at 16:45 UTC on 21 October as the live product wowf, and on the 22nd for the beta too. Against 70450 only shaders change; no data table is touched, so no talents either. It was the last client of the beta, which closed on 23 October. not read by us 1.60.1.70450 October 17, 2026 Pets, mounts and outfits that are not meant for Forever On Blizzard's CDN at 22:29 UTC on 16 October, not a day after 70425, and recorded at 00:56 UTC on the 17th. It adds 22 spells and 23 items and changes nothing that was there before; talents and spells are those of 70425. Blizzard has published no notes for it, but has said something about its contents. not read by us 1.60.1.70425 October 16, 2026 Four trees rebuilt, and races without weapon specializations On Blizzard's CDN at 00:50 UTC on 16 October, 35 minutes after Blizzard posted the development notes for the build of the 15th, and recorded at 06:42 UTC. With 2,780 changed rows in the tracker's count it is the largest client since the beta opened, and the first since 70291 whose trees we have read. What the notes promise for the mage, priest, shaman and warlock trees is in it. 37 talent changes read 1.60.1.70374 October 14, 2026 Mostly sounds, among them the demon hunters On Blizzard's CDN at 23:25 UTC on 13 October, three and a half days after 70338, and recorded at 00:56 UTC on the 14th. It reworks some 420 sound files and drops the map images of a Battle for Azeroth raid; the only data tables it touches are two indexes. Blizzard has published no notes for it. not read by us 1.60.1.70338 October 10, 2026 New shaders, the same game On Blizzard's CDN at 05:05 UTC on 10 October, six hours after 70334, and recorded at 06:43 UTC. It changes graphics shaders and the game's loader, no data table. Blizzard has published no notes for it. not read by us 1.60.1.70334 October 10, 2026 A companion called Azurky, and two items for eternal explorers On Blizzard's CDN at 22:49 UTC on 9 October, a day after 70291, and recorded at 01:08 UTC on the 10th. The client's own files change only the loader, the crash handlers and the list of item icons. With its hotfix data the tracker counts nine new or changed rows - a companion pet and two items nobody had announced at the time. Six days later Blizzard named all three as the Forever bonus of a subscription offer. not read by us 1.60.1.70291 October 9, 2026 The warrior rework arrives, a week after the notes Recorded at 01:10 UTC on 9 October; wago.tools lists it on Blizzard's CDN on the evening of the 8th, before Blizzard posted that day's development notes. It is the first client since 70170 that changes the data tables - 1,600 rows in the tracker's count - and the first since then whose trees we have read. The Fury and Protection rework that the notes of 1 October put "in today's build" is in them now. 18 talent changes read 1.60.1.70245 October 7, 2026 One more client without the warrior Recorded at 01:08 UTC on 7 October, a day after 70235. The tracker that regenerates from Blizzard's CDN found no change in its tables, and Blizzard posted nothing for it. The development notes of 8 October came with the next client, 70291. not read by us 1.60.1.70235 October 6, 2026 A new program, the same game Recorded at 01:05 UTC on 6 October, under two hours after Blizzard restarted the beta realms. The files that changed are the game's loader and its crash handlers - nothing the game reads its talents, spells or items from. Blizzard has published no notes for it. not read by us 1.60.1.70205 October 3, 2026 Shaders and two interface files, and the fixes came without a build The third client after the level 30 update, recorded at 06:49 UTC on 3 October. It changes graphics shaders and two interface files, no data table. Both bugs Blizzard reported fixed in the days that followed were fixed while this client stayed in place. not read by us 1.60.1.70178 October 2, 2026 Half a day later, and nothing in the tables The second client after the level 30 update, recorded at 12:41 UTC on 2 October. The tracker that regenerates from Blizzard's CDN found no change in its tables against 70170, and Blizzard has posted nothing about it. not read by us 1.60.1.70170 October 1, 2026 Level 30, and the Feral tree Blizzard had promised The build that came back from maintenance on 1 October: level cap 30, the Excavation Site, Razorfen Downs and Uldaman, and the longest development notes of the beta so far. In the talent trees it is a small build - one Feral talent gone, two new, one moved up a row, two renamed. The large warrior rework in the notes is not in the trees we read. 7 talent changes read 1.60.1.70124 September 30, 2026 On the CDN a day early The third client in two days, recorded at 06:46 UTC on 30 September - and again no change in the tracker's tables. It was not the build the beta came back with on 1 October; that one was 70170, a day later. not read by us 1.60.1.70058 September 29, 2026 The build number that went down Twelve hours after 1.60.1.70094 the beta branch was pointed at a client with a lower number, and again nothing in the data tables moved. Blizzard published nothing for either, which is why the first thread about this build is a player asking where the notes are. not read by us 1.60.1.70094 September 29, 2026 The first client in five days, and nothing in it For five days 1.60.1.70009 was the client while the data changed underneath it through the hotfix cache. Then a new client arrived and the relationship reversed: the number moved, the tables did not. not read by us 1.60.1.70009 September 24, 2026 The first build that moves talents The build that came with Blizzard's first full development notes - and the first one whose talent trees no longer match the BlizzCon stage. Four talents are gone, two were renamed, two were replaced by different abilities in the same slot, and six moved - five of them into a different row, which changes what they cost. 14 talent changes read 1.60.1.69977 September 22, 2026 Mac and controller fixes, no game content A client update with three named fixes and nothing that touches the game itself. Blizzard said so, and both build trackers that read the client agree: nothing they read had changed. not read by us 1.60.1.69913 September 18, 2026 The first update after the doors opened Less than a day after the beta servers went live the client was updated, and then sat unchanged across the whole weekend. Blizzard posted no notes for it. What is known about it comes from datamining, and this is the build most of our dungeon data is labelled with. not read by us 1.60.1.69893 September 16, 2026 The build the beta opened on Pushed the evening before the doors opened on 17 September. This is the build every tracker started reading from, which is also why the numbers from that week do not line up: what one tracker calls the state before the first patch, another calls the first patch. not read by us BlizzCon build September 14, 2026 The BlizzCon preview build Not a beta build, but the baseline everything is measured against. The nine trees on this page are the ones the talent calculator showed until 25 September: 470 talents, read off the BlizzCon preview rather than out of a client anybody could install. not read by us

We read the trees six times: off the BlizzCon preview, out of build 1.60.1.70009, out of 1.60.1.70170, out of 1.60.1.70291, out of 1.60.1.70425 and out of 1.60.1.70630. Sixteen builds we did not read - 69893, 69913 and 69977 before the first, 70094, 70058 and 70124 between the first two, 70178, 70205, 70235 and 70245 between the next two, 70334, 70338 and 70374 between the two after that, 70450 and 70532 before the last, and 70634, 70658, 70685 and 70707 after it are not listed here yet - and no snapshot of them exists here. Everything this page says about them is other people's reporting, marked as such. That is also why the talent diff on the 70009 page covers everything that happened since BlizzCon rather than that build alone. The 70170, 70291, 70425 and 70630 diffs are cleaner than that sounds: for the clients in between, the reporting is the strongest kind available without a snapshot - a machine that regenerates from the CDN and found nothing to commit, or a file diff without a single data table - so what each diff shows is that build's own. One exception: the 70630 snapshot also carries the server hotfixes of 28 and 30 October for six classes, which are not in the client's files.
