On Blizzard's CDN at 22:49 UTC on 9 October, a day after 70291, and recorded at 01:08 UTC on the 10th. The client's own files change only the loader, the crash handlers and the list of item icons. With its hotfix data the tracker counts nine new or changed rows - a companion pet and two items nobody had announced at the time. Six days later Blizzard named all three as the Forever bonus of a subscription offer.

What changed

  • Items New: Azurky, an item that "teaches you how to summon this companion", with its spell Summon Azurky. And two items with matching names, the Tabard of Eternal Exploration and the Eternal Explorer's Backpack. How players get them was in no file we can read. Since 15 October it is known: they are the Forever bonus of the 6- and 12-month subscription offer - the tabard and backpack as transmog, Azurky as a pet.
  • Client Against 70291, eighteen files differ, and the only data table among them is the list of item icons. Talents and the Trait tables are untouched; the trees of 70291 stand.

In the client, not in the notes

Azurky, the Tabard of Eternal Exploration and the Eternal Explorer's Backpack were in no Blizzard announcement when this client came out. On 15 October Blizzard announced them as a set: the Forever bonus of the 6- and 12-month subscription offer, delivered by 31 October and usable from launch.
