Hellcodex StarCraft Command

1.60.1.70009

The build that came with Blizzard's first full development notes - and the first one whose talent trees no longer match the BlizzCon stage. Four talents are gone, two were renamed, two were replaced by different abilities in the same slot, and six moved - five of them into a different row, which changes what they cost.

Build of September 24, 2026 — Blizzard: WoW Forever Beta Development Notes – Updated September 24, Kaivax

What changed

  • Class Paladin: Improved Holy Strike is removed and folded into the baseline ability. Holy Strike's cooldown drops from 12 to 10 seconds, its weapon damage is adjusted per rank, and Righteous Fury's holy threat falls from 90% to 60%.
  • Class Druid: Mangle becomes Primal Bite, because the bleed-amplifying debuff that gave it its name is gone. Wrath gains about 50% base damage, and Rejuvenation, Tranquility and Wild Growth can now land critical hits.
  • Class Shaman: Elemental Fury and Elemental Alacrity swap places - which means one now costs 25 points in the tree instead of 10, and the other the other way round.
  • Class Warrior: Blizzard lists Bastion and Focused Rage as swapped in Protection. What the trees show is not a swap - see the note below.
  • Items Wands no longer gain damage from the wielder's spell power, and Wizard Oil goes back to its Classic Era values: 8, 16 and 24 spell power. Brilliant Wizard Oil is unchanged.
  • Systems A beta-only respec price: a talent reset costs 1 silver if you have not respecced recently. Repeat resets cost much more, and the price falls back to 1 silver after an hour.
  • Systems Players may now buff, cast and craft while waiting for their campfire buff - the single change that makes camping usable in a group.

In the client, not in the notes

Two changes sit in the client trees that Blizzard's notes do not mention: the druid talent Balance of Nature and the warrior talent Vitality are gone, and in the shaman's Restoration tree Tidal Mastery and Totemic Focus swapped places. Neither is in the development notes, and no other tracker we checked lists the Restoration swap.

Where the reports disagree

Blizzard writes that Bastion and Focused Rage "swapped" in Protection, and one build tracker writes that no warrior talent moved at all. The client trees say a third thing, and it is the interesting one: Vitality was removed, Bastion took its empty slot one row up - so it costs 20 points in the tree now instead of 25 - and Focused Rage slid sideways into the slot Bastion left, still at 25. Nothing swapped, and the slot Focused Rage came from is now empty. The tracker is simply wrong; Blizzard is imprecise.

The same tracker counts 469 talents before and 467 after. We count 470 and 466. The difference is which build the earlier number was read from - see the note on builds we did not read.
