The Deadmines

From the BlizzCon preview build

The Classic dungeon in Westfall, and the clearest case of the itemization pass: nine bosses and 45 reported drops, 39 of them already seen in the beta - far more than Classic ever had. One of them still matters at level 60.

Where this comes from

This dungeon is open in the beta and people are running it. What follows comes from the beta client and from reports by those who were inside - not from a Blizzard announcement. Anything several sources report the same way independently is in; where they disagree, the disagreement sits under the open questions instead of a decision we are in no position to make. A build can change all of it tomorrow.

Destruction in Deadmines

A level 18 quest chain that did not exist in Classic

Reported, not confirmed

  • It starts outside, in Westfall

Part of a chain that opens with Testing the Wells from Alba Fairmoon at Sentinel Hill. The dungeon step sends you to the forge in the Goblin Foundry to plant explosives, then back out to her. A second step with the same name follows: set them off.

Open questions

  • The rewards - no source names them
  • Where the chain actually starts. One guide says the quest begins from an item, another from Alba Fairmoon.

Loot

No drop data exists - the beta caps at level 20

  • Unique boss drop Blue quality - confirmed
  • Set piece Not announced
  • Recipe or blueprint Dungeon bosses drop these - confirmed
  • Terrain or creature effect System confirmed, items not

Unique dungeon-boss drops are blue in Forever - that much is confirmed. The rows above are the shape the table will take, not entries.

Items

Per dungeon, not per boss - deliberately. Which boss drops what is not in the client; the item itself is. A list without an assignment claims exactly what can be backed up.

  • Staff of Westfall Two hand, staff New in Forever Quest reward. Carries spell damage and healing plus movement speed, but only in Elwynn, Westfall, Redridge and the Deadmines - one of the clearest examples of Forever binding an effect to a place.
