Ragefire Chasm

From the BlizzCon preview build

The Classic dungeon under Orgrimmar, in range at the beta level cap. Four bosses, five quests - and a loot table that Forever has been through: nine of its twelve drops already show Forever values in the beta client, the rest still carry their Classic ones.

Where this comes from

This dungeon is open in the beta and people are running it. What follows comes from the beta client and from reports by those who were inside - not from a Blizzard announcement. Anything several sources report the same way independently is in; where they disagree, the disagreement sits under the open questions instead of a decision we are in no position to make. A build can change all of it tomorrow.

The four encounters

Oggleflint, Taragaman the Hungerer, Jergosh the Invoker, Bazzalan

Reported, not confirmed

  • The dungeon itself is the Classic one

Same four bosses, same layout, same quests. Nothing in the beta reports suggests an encounter was changed, added or removed. What Forever touched is the loot, and that is the only reason this page exists.

  • Twelve drops, nine of them already seen in the beta

A tracker following Classic against Forever counts twelve drops for the dungeon and has seen nine of them in the beta with Forever values. The remaining three still carry their Classic values - which does not mean they are unchanged, only that nobody has seen them yet.

  • Nobody can currently say which boss drops what

The client table that links an encounter to its drops is empty - 208 bytes, no records. Loot is handed out server-side, as are quest rewards and vendor stock. Every boss-by-boss table for an old dungeon you can find right now is therefore either the Classic assignment carried over, or somebody's loot log. Both are worth something; neither is datamined truth, and we do not print one as if it were.

Open questions

  • Which of the four bosses drops which of the twelve items
  • The level range. We carry 13-18 from the community charts; Wowhead's Forever page says 15-25.

Loot

No drop data exists - the beta caps at level 20

  • Unique boss drop Blue quality - confirmed
  • Set piece Not announced
  • Recipe or blueprint Dungeon bosses drop these - confirmed
  • Terrain or creature effect System confirmed, items not

Unique dungeon-boss drops are blue in Forever - that much is confirmed. The rows above are the shape the table will take, not entries.

Items

Per dungeon, not per boss - deliberately. Which boss drops what is not in the client; the item itself is. A list without an assignment claims exactly what can be backed up.
