The campfire as a system
Cooking's campfire is the starting point for the new camping system. Placing one creates a campsite — and there you find vendors, repairs, profession workspaces and one-hour buffs.
None of it is free: you have to sit down and rest before the benefits apply. That is exactly the point — a reason to stop on the road instead of running straight through.
A Basic Campfire holds up to three profession objects. Each player nearby contributes one, and those objects share a one-hour cooldown.
Where the cook makes the difference
Cooks learn upgraded campfires that take five or ten objects. Cooking therefore decides how large a campsite can get at all — and it is the only profession whose object moves the limit for everyone else.
Food that does more
Crafted food has been adjusted: it can grant a small experience bonus and stat boosts. That makes cooking count while levelling for the first time, not just as raid preparation.
What applies to every profession
More than 600 new recipes are being added across all professions and level ranges. Every profession has three campsite objects: the first at skill level 20, the advanced ones from Blueprint recipes dropped by specific dungeon bosses.
What is not known yet
Blizzard has not broken down which individual dishes are coming or how strong they are, nor the skill levels for the upgraded campfires. Figures from a recording of BlizzCon 2026 are not listed here, because they do not come from an announcement.
The beta from September 17, 2026 is the first build on which this can be checked.
